Mach3 eSports Tournament Rules and Information

Eligibility requirements:

  • Age: none

  • Communications: Discord, challonge.com (access to both platforms will be required during the tournament)

Round matches are BO3 Quarter and Semi-Final matches are BO5 The Final match is BO7

Registration:

Signups will be conducted through challonge.com. Both players must create an account on challonge.com then use those accounts to register for the tournament. Following individual registration, one teammate must create a team within the Rocket League 2v2 event. The second teammate must join that team. No partial teams will be accepted. Registration will close 1 hour prior to the event start time.

Mach3 eSports reserves the right to refuse entry of any player to tournaments based on historical evidence of cheating, rule manipulation, excessive toxicity or clear violations of Rocket League ToS such as boosting. Clearly inappropriate or hateful player and team names are also grounds for exclusion. We want our community to be a place to have fun and compete in a fair environment and the exclusion of people known to go against these aspects is essential for that to happen.

Check-in:

All teams need to have a representative notify tournament administration that they are present 15-30 minutes before start time of the tournament when check-in is requested in discord. One member of the team (minimum) will need to be in the Check In voice channel to listen for their team name to be called then respond in the text chat. One member of the team is required to stay in discord during the tournament for communicating with tournament administration. In the event that we cannot contact you on challonge.com we will contact you on discord.

In addition to checking in for the tournament on discord, teams must check-in through challonge.com prior to each match and follow the prompts given to create or join the game lobby. You will be able to check-in up to 5 minutes before the scheduled start time and no later than 5 minutes after. Failure to check-in within 5 minutes after the scheduled start time of a match will result in disqualification. Round start times will be available on challonge.com under bracket. If a previous round runs late, the scheduled start time will be pushed back to the conclusion of the game running late.

Lobby creation and score reporting:

All matchups, lobby informant and score reporting will be done through challonge.com. When your match is ready you will be able to access it through your match dashboard. Upon completion of check-in by both teams you will be assigned the task of creating or joining the match lobby. There is a chat feature available on the match pop-up that will allow you to communicate with the other team or call for a moderator if needed. Upon completion of the series you will be able to select to pull match data which, if successful, will automatically enter scores for you. Scores may also be entered manually. Both teams must confirm scores, but an automatic confirmation will occur if one team does not confirm within 5 minutes. It is highly advised to keep screenshots of your match results to settle any disputes.

● Team Names: default, or names from challonge.com

● Joinable By: Name/Password

● Server: US­East/US­West. The higher seeded team will create the lobby and choose the server if one cannot be agreed upon. If one team is from outside NA, choose the closest NA server to them (USWest for OCE/Asia, USEast for EU).

**Map choices: The first map played will always be Manfield. After the first game the losing team will be able to select any map from the current RLCS map pool (or previous if during an off season) for the next game. There is no limit to the number of times a map may be picked.

All players MUST have cross play enabled.

Communication with other teams will be handled through challonge.com and communication with tournament administrators will be conducted over the official Mach3 eSports discord.

Any disputes should be brought up immediately AFTER a game. If there is any doubt that a game should be remade, please play the game to it's conclusion before bringing up the dispute. In the event that a player disconnects from the game, both teams will need to agree to remake the game.

Connection issues:

At the start of the game, within the first 5 seconds of play and before any goals are scored, a team may request that the server be remade due to poor connection. All of the team's players need to immediately disconnect and then inform their opponents via challonge.com that they're requesting a server remake. Each team will get 1 remake request in a best of 3 or best of 5 series. Mutually agreed upon “bad servers” will not count against either team for use of a remake.

Payout will be made through PayPal directly or through Matcherino. Winners may request one or the other, with applicable fees coming from their portion of the prize.
